How We Build
Matthew 25:1-10 THEN THE kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish (thoughtless, without forethought) and five were wise (sensible, intelligent, and prudent). For when the foolish took their lamps, they did not take any [extra] oil with them; But the wise took flasks of oil along with them [also] with their lamps. While the bridegroom lingered and was slow in coming, they all began nodding their heads, and they fell asleep. But at midnight there was a shout, Behold, the bridegroom! Go out to meet him! Then all those virgins got up and put their own lamps in order. And the foolish said to the wise, Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out. But the wise replied, There will not be enough for us and for you; go instead to the dealers and buy for yourselves. But while they were going away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were prepared went in with him to the marriage feast; and the door was shut.
This story is likened to the kingdom of God and my focus today is how we build. The virgins represent
every one in the kingdom, the bride groom represents destiny. Just as the bride groom lingered, so it is with greatness. Your greatness might have a way of delaying and you pass through the same challenge as non-believers. Of course its not about the problems, but what you will learn from the challenge.
You all sleep in the same delay but what will make a difference in future is the extra oil. We might all
be talented( lamps), but when the bride arrives will you still be burning? Of course the foolish virgins
asked their friends for help and they couldn't help them. They advised them to go to the dealers and buy for themselves the oil.
I understood that for wisdom, no one can reach for you. Yes, you must reach for your self. These foolish girls were originally fools but why did they repeat this mistake? Many take life like these foolish girls, they carry no extra oil. Yes, you are burning for success but carry some wisdom. Give thought to your future and plan for it else you keep in error.
Do you want to see a fool, look out for one who who is not prepared for the future, he thinks of now. If
you will ever be successful, then plan for your future, so that when challenges come, you will still stay
standing. You can't afford to make that error again.
God we pray that our future will not pass us by, just because of negligence. Amen
