_Living A Devoted Life_
Colossians 4:2-6 Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains. Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should. Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.
One thing is crystal clear from this passage: It is God's will that we pray to him. The text says, "Devote yourselves to prayer." God wills for every christian to devote themselves in prayer to him.
If prayer is so great and central to God's purpose for your life, His call to us is to be devoted because its important.
Devotion means something done continuously. It is not something you can take a leave from (like I will pray tomorrow and not pray the next day ) prayer should be a part of You- *lifestyle*
Paul in verse 3 is telling all christians should use and direct their prayer lives towards the men of God in our church that is to say (apostles ,prophets ,teachers ,pastors evangelists).
Pray for them to be strengthened and able to have the word of God preached to the world.
Verse 5-6 points us to how all of us believers are supposed to relate to the unbelievers in our lives.
He asks us to live wisely, to be gracious with our speech so that we can be able to answer everyone rightly so that they are able to tell you are not of the world.
Father teach me to be devoted in prayer life and how to live wisely amongst people .Amen
