Preaching wherever you are
Acts 8:1-4 Saul was one of the witnesses, and he agreed completely with the killing of Stephen.A great wave of persecution began that day, sweeping over the church in Jerusalem; and all the believers except the apostles were scattered through the regions of Judea and Samaria. (Some devout men came and buried Stephen with great mourning.) But Saul was going everywhere to destroy the church. He went from house to house, dragging out both men and women to throw them into prison. But the believers who were scattered preached the Good News about Jesus wherever they went.
We see in our reference scriptures that there was a wave of persecution that caused the church to be scattered. This persecution became personal and is said to have been done from house to house. But, even then, the believers preached the Message about Jesus.
The first instinct, today, for many believers when their faith is challenged in persecution is to run and go into hiding; ensure their safety or perhaps wait for the wave of persecution to end. Yet, this shouldn't be the mind by which we operate.
We are expected to seize every opportunity to preach the Good News. Tell others about our saviour; about the loving kindness of God and have men aware of His righteousness and unfailing love.
As believers we have been called to preach the Good News. Mark 16:15 And then He told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. This shows us that there's a mandate to preach the Gospel of Christ.
Even in that situation, where your faith is being challenged by the day to day circumstances you face, see an opportunity to tell and show others this Christ you have greatly believed; do not shy away.
Father I thank you for the Grace to preach the Good News, make me aware of the people that need to encounter your love.
